University of Reading

The main Whiteknights campus at the University of Reading lies a short bus ride away from the city’s well connected train station (only 20 minutes west from London). Past the large green pitches that welcome you as you come through the main gates stand the principal university buildings, all closely located within easy walk of each other.

Greenery is quite a theme at Reading, where a lake and meadows feature on a walk to many of the halls of residence. The general atmosphere on the campus mimics these pleasant surroundings, with a relaxed and chilled out feel pervading the university. Nearby is the smaller Bulmershe Campus, that caters to a variety of subjects not offered over at Whiteknights.

Famous alumni from Reading include Mighty Boosh comedian Julian Barratt, jazz pianist Jamie Cullum, and rowers James Cracknell and Debbie Flood.
