Lancaster University

Set away from Lancaster city centre (2 hours north of Birmingham), the university boasts a spacious and modern self-contained campus. As a result, Lancaster feels quite large, aided by the new accommodation complex in the south east, as well as the various colleges dotted about the campus.

Facilities are extensive, with a theatre, a media centre, and plenty of college bars on campus. On the sports front, a new centre is currently under construction. With Manchester and the Lake District both under an hour away, Lancaster is a university with a lit bit to offer everyone.

Notable graduates include journalist Robert Fisk, Top Gear presenter James May, and MP Alan Milburn.
