Goldsmiths

Goldsmiths, part of the University of London, is tucked away in New Cross (5 minutes from London Bridge) – an area the university has really made its own. With no definitive campus boundary, Goldsmiths blends in with the local area and lent it much of its colour and variety.

The university is best known for its artistic and musical degrees, but there are a host of other subjects on offer. Though many who choose to study here are of an artistic leaning, by no means is everyone the creative type, meaning a pretty good mix of students.

Notable old boys and girls of Goldsmiths are a veritable who’s who of the entertainment and art world, including Daman Albarn and Alex James of Blur, TV presenter Alex Zane, designer Vivienne Westwood, and a host of artists including Damien Hirst, Lucien Freud, and Sam Taylor-Wood.
